“Creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients to grow and thrive.”
I love working with womxn/femmes/enbies who find that despite their high intelligence and capabilities, they struggle to understand their feelings, needs, and values. These clients tend to over-function in relationships, overextend themselves at work or school, and eventually find themselves burnt out, exhausted, resentful, and confused about who they are. They might present a facade, a mask, or an alter-ego to the world, while their true self lies buried deep underneath, longing for recognition and acceptance. Many of my clients come to therapy wondering whether they have ADHD (or maybe were recently diagnosed), wanting to work on anxiety/panic attacks, or seeking support for relationship issues. More often than not, these clients have turmoil in their past: neglect, abuse, unhealthy family dynamics, alcoholic or drug-using parents, sexual assault, bullying, poverty, and other experiences that left them feeling fundamentally broken and alone. If any of this sounds like you, keep reading.
I am a neurodivergent, queer, intersectional feminist with lived experience of trauma and hardship. The overwhelming majority of my clients are also queer and neurodivergent, though you do not have to be to work with me! I also work with clients who are chronically ill, children of immigrants, immigrants themselves, college students or recent grads, and low-income.
Using a variety of approaches, including parts work and relational therapy, we will point out all the ways that the systems and values of our culture contribute to our suffering, and you will discover new ways for relating to yourself and others. You can expect warmth, gentle challenge, unconditional acceptance, and humor while working with me. If you're ready, I'm waiting!
